Youth Video Dance Party

The Milton Community Resource Centre hosts a Youth Video Dance Party for Grade 5 to 8 students from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Milton Sports Centre.

Admission is $20, with proceeds supporting MCRC’s empowerment programs. The night will include games and a cash snack bar.

FunFest 2024

Sherwood Community Centre (6355 Main St. W.)

The Academy of Milton hosts this music competition for youth from across Ontario. Performances run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Mill Pond Kids Fishing Derby

Mill Pond (Martin Street)

The Halton Sportsmen’s Association hosts its annual fishing derby from 8 a.m. to noon, with prizes for the best catches. Food and beverages will be provided for the young anglers.

Milton Good Neighbours Day

Meet at Milton Town Hall (150 Mary St.) at 8 p.m. for your site assignments and cleaning supplies, then join hundreds of Miltonians for a morning cleanup of a local park, community site or greenspace.

Garage Sale and Jigsaw Puzzles

Grace Anglican Church (317 Main St. E.)

The church will hold a garage and puzzle sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring a wide variety of items. All are welcome.

Beaty Birdhouse Bonanaza

Milton Public Library's Beaty branch (945 Fourth Line) is hosting the first in a two-part birdhouse making workshop to enhance its Indigenous Learning Garden. The event runs from 2 to 4 p.m. and is open to everyone. High school students can use this as volunteer hours towards graduation.

Free Scrabble Tournament and Newcomers Session

2024 MILTON HONEY CUP: Unleashing the Power of Words in a Day of Scrabble Excitement
Hosted in collaboration with the Milton Public Library, United for Literacy, and the Word Game Players Organization, this event marks a celebration of wordsmithing prowess, with players of all levels invited to participate from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Sherwood Branch (6355 Main St.) From casual drop-in sessions to the heart-pounding intensity of competitive play, there's something for everyone at the Honey Cup.
Drop in and play as much or as little as you want, meet new people, learn to play scrabble and pick up useful tips & tricks.

Frankie and the Fairlanes 

Knox Presbyterian Church (170 Main St.) hosts Lucky 13: Frankie and the Fairlanes rock ‘n roll at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at knoxmilton.com/events.

Throughout April

Prom-ware donations sought

Milton Public Library’s three branches will be accepting donations of gently used formal wear for prom throughout the month, with teens able to select their perfect outfit at Sherwood branch on May 15 and 16. Formal dresses and suits (especially larger sizes), as well as shoes and accessories, will be accepted during regular library hours.

Sikh Heritage Month exhibit

In partnership with the Sikh National Archives, all three Milton Public Library branches are hosting a National Sikh Heritage Month exhibit, celebrating Sikh history and culture in Canada.
