The ongoing Britannia Road widening work has resulted in the closure of a portion of Sixth Line, effective today (June 10).

There is no access to Sixth Line from Britannia Road in both directions. The closure, from Lower Base Line to Derry Road, is expected to reopen on Tuesday, July 2, at 7 p.m.

For those looking to access Sixth Line north of Britannia, the detour routes are: Fifth Line, Derry Road and Trafalgar Road. Local and through traffic south of Britannia can use: Fifth Line, Lower Base Line and Trafalgar Road.

According to Halton Region, which is conducting the work, emergency vehicle access will be maintained along Sixth Line at all times via the posted detours.

“We do not anticipate any disruption to waste collection or mail delivery services. We will make every effort to complete the work as quickly as possible to minimize the impact. Motorists should expect delays when travelling through the area,” the online announcement reads.
