Prom is a memorable time, one that shouldn’t be missed because of financial constraints.

That’s the feeling at the Milton Public Library and Halton District School Board, both of which are hosting free formal wear pickup events this month.

After a month-long donation drive, MPL welcomes teens to pick up gently-used dresses, suits, shoes and accessories at its Find Your Formal Wear event at the Sherwood Branch (6355 Main St.) on Wednesday and Thursday (May 15 and 16) from 4 to 9 p.m.

Fitting rooms will be set up and clothes will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

On May 30, HDSB will hold the last of its three prom wear giveaways at W.I. Dick Middle School (351 Highside Dr.) from 3:30 to 8 p.m.

Gender diverse youth who require more private shopping are invited to drop by between 3 and 3:30 p.m.
