Queen Primpadora is determined to ruin things for poor Snow White. Will she succeed?
What follows is equal parts outrageous, comedic and interactive, as the Brightside Players gear up to present Snow White: A British Pantomime at FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton.
The local theatre group – which has been performing for over a decade now – will take the MinMaxx Hall stage from Dec. 6 to 8.
After a successful open audition call, the holiday performance will include more than four dozen cast members ranging in age from six to over 65.
In keeping with the tradition of pantomimes, the show will include interaction with the audience and a man taking on the role of a main female character.
And as always, there will be plenty of music, dance and comedy.
"There is something magical in watching a cast of 47 actors, from 7 years old to 70 years old all come together as a family, united by the love of theatre," said director Erin Mason. "It is a one of a kind experience to watch this Panto, both as an adult and a child, it will have you laughing and tapping your toes for long after the show has ended, and you know that you will have been a part of a truly special show"
Tickets are $32.50 for adults and $25.50 for children up to 13 years of age.
Performances are Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. and at 1 and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8.
