Miltonians are invited to be stewards of their favourite green spaces.
The Town of Milton has officially launched its “adopt-a-park” program. This allows residents to, as the name suggests, adopt a park and help look after it.
“This program will allow and encourage local organizations and volunteer groups to partner with the Town of Milton in a joint effort to keep our beautiful community clean and green,” Community Services Commissioner Doug Sampano said in a press release.
Those who sign up to adopt a park will be responsible for hosting spring and fall cleanups. The Town will provide cleaning necessities like gloves and garbage bags. The municipality hopes the initiative will instill a sense of pride in the community while also expediting cleanup efforts.
