An upcoming after-school event has great learning potential.
Milton Public Library is bringing the Moccasin Identifier Project – developed by Carolyn King, in partnership with Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the Greenbelt Foundation – to its Main Branch on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Running from 4 to 5 p.m., the workshop is open to children eight to 12 years of age and aims to boost awareness of significant cultural historic sites and the ancestral presence of First Nations, Metis and Indigenous communities.
Participants will learn about Indigenous history and culture, and will create an art project that reflects those teachings.
Registration is required and can be done here.
