The donations just keep pouring in.
Exactly a week after it was set up, a Gofundme page has brought in an overwhelming $119,986 for local husband and father Muhammad Saleem, who was killed in an eight-vehicle collision on Sept. 20.
To date, a heartwarming 1,700-plus individual donations came come in, with contributions ranging from $5 right up to $3,000. The goal now sits at $130,000, raised four times since its original $50,000 mark to adjust for the community’s generosity.
“Ever share and donation counts, and together we can help ease the financial burden on Saleem’s family,” said close friend and Gofundme page organizer Farhan Nadeem, one of many who’ve rallied around the widow and three school-age children in their time of need. “Thank you again for your kindness and support.”
Brother Saleem, as he was known among those who share his faith, is remembered as an enthusiastic and encouraging presence at family and community events, as well as a "true gentle soul."
