Friday, Nov. 8 to Sunday, Nov. 10

Red Scarf Day 

Adults and seniors are invited to drop off knitted red scarves, mittens and hats at Milton Public Library’s Main Branch (1010 Main St.) during regular hours to be donated to the local chapter of The AIDS Network to be used to recognize World AIDS Day Dec. 1.

A Murder is Announced

The Milton Players Theatre Group kicks off their season with Agatha Christie’s A Murder is Announced at FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton. Show times are Nov. 8 and 9 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $32 each or $27 for a group of 10 or more, and can be purchased here.

Super Smash Bros Drop-in

Youths 13 to 17 are invited to drop in to test their skills against fellow gamers from 10 a.m. to noon at Milton Public Library’s Main Branch (1010 Main St.). No registration is required.

An Afternoon at the Movies

Milton Public Library’s Beaty Branch (945 Fourth Line) welcomes seniors to a free screening of 1917, which tells the story of two young British soldiers’ race against time and over enemy lines to stop an attack on hundreds of soldiers. No registration is required.

Saturday, Nov. 9 to Saturday, Nov. 15

MPL Book Sale

Milton Public Library’s Main Branch (1010 Main St.) holds its annual book sale, with proceeds going toward programs and services. Books are $2 each, or fill a box for $10 or a tote bag for $15.

Community Closet

Southside Community Church (200 Main St.) offers free clothes to men, women and children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome and donations are gladly accepted.

Paint Afternoon 

Teens and adults are invited to Milton Public Library’s Beaty Branch (945 Fourth Line) from 1 to 4 p.m. for some painting fun. Take home your masterpiece, with all materials supplied. The cost is $5 a person and you can register here.

Write a Letter to Santa

Milton Public Library’s Beaty Branch (945 Fourth Line) invites children 2 to 12 and their parents/caregivers to drop in between 1:30 and 3 p.m. to write a letter to Santa at their North Pole writing station. Drawings and pictures are also accepted and all materials will be supplied. Letters will be sent off by Dec. 6.

Bluey Bash at Main

Celebrate everyone’s favourite Australian blue heeler at Milton Public Library’s Main Branch (1010 Main St.) from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Drop in for crafts, activities and games, and perhaps even a visit from Bluey and Bingo. Come dressed in your best Bluey-themed attire. The event is best suit for families with children 3 to 9, and no registration is required.

Victoria Park Remembrance Day Service

Milton veterans and dignitaries will march from the Legion (21 Charles St.) to Victoria Park Cenotaph (150 Mary St.) for the annual 1:30 p.m. service.
