Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30

Red Scarf Day 
Adults and seniors are invited to drop off knitted red scarves, mittens and hats at Milton Public Library’s Main Branch (1010 Main St.) during regular hours to be donated to the local chapter of The AIDS Network to be used to recognize World AIDS Day Dec. 1.

Friday, Nov. 29

Crafty Carton Creations: PA Day Fun!
Milton Public Library’s Main Branch (1010 Main St.) welcomes six to eight-year-olds to transform ordinary egg cartons into extraordinary crafts with their creativity and imagination. The event runs from 11 a.m. to noon. Click here to register. 

PA Day Movies @Beaty
Families with children five and older are invited to Milton Public Library’s Beaty Branch (945 Fourth Line) at 2 p.m. for a free screening of Elemental, which follows an unlikely pair’s journey through a city where fire, water, land and air residents live together. Registration is required and can be done here.

Campbellville Tree Lighting
The Campbellville Community Association invites residents to the annual tree lighting at the Gazebo Park, at the corner of Guelph Line and Campbell Avenue. The event runs from 7 to 8 p.m., with hot chocolate and Timbits. Honourary Mayors Liz and Peter Lambrick will hit the switch to light the tree.

Saturday, Nov. 30

Community Closet
Southside Community Church (200 Main St.) offers free clothes to men, women and children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome. Donations are gladly accepted.

Write a Letter to Santa
Milton Public Library’s Beaty Branch (945 Fourth Line) invites children 2 to 12 and their parents/caregivers to drop in between 1:30 and 3 p.m. to write a letter to Santa at their North Pole writing station. Drawings and pictures are also accepted and all materials will be supplied. Letters will be sent off by Dec. 6.

Winter Wonderland & Market
Woodbine Mohawk Park (9430 Guelph Line) welcomes families to its Winter Wonderland & Market from 3 to 8 p.m. The free event features kids activities, light shows, local vendors and crafters, a magic show, face painting, food and a visit from Santa. Stay for live standardbred horsing racing, starting at 7:10 p.m.

Sacred Christmas Choral Concert
Milton Choristers presents Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s timeless classic, which has become known as the ‘Mass for the Midnight Service for Christmas Eve’, at FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $20 for students and children. Click here to purchase tickets or for more information.

Saturday, Nov. 30 to Sunday, Dec. 1

Storytime with Santa
Conservation Halton presents Storytime with Santa at Mountsberg Conservation Area (2259 Milburough Town Line) from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The event features a group reading with Santa, a scavenger hunt, cookie decorating and craft making plus visits to Mrs. Claus’ Kitchen, the Elf Academy and Gingerbread Play Area, as well as a chance to meet the resident raptors and barn animals. Tickets are $27 for adults and $23 for seniors and children. Click here to book a time or for more information.

The Three Sisters Exhibit
Conservation Halton is pleased to announce a new exhibit opening at Crawford Lake Conservation Area (3115 Conservation Rd.) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Three Sisters features stories and beautiful new art pieces by Tuscarora artist, Raymond R. Skye that explore the importance of agriculture to Haudenosaunee peoples — past and present. No registration is required.

Sunday, Dec. 1

Sip and Shop
A wide variety of crafters and vendors will be part of this market at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 136 (21 Charles St.) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds will support the Legion’s Ladies Auxiliary. Admission is free.

Open Mic @Sherwood
Milton Public Library invites adults and seniors to its open mic at Sherwood Branch (6355 Main St.) from 1 to 4 p.m. Local authors, poets and writers will share their work.
