A pre-arranged cell phone sale this past weekend turned violent, leaving one man hospitalized and police looking for two suspects.
Halton police media relations officer Ryan Anderson reports that at about 3 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 1), the victim and suspect met at a home on Wettlaufer Terrace after arranging the sale through Marketplace.
Upon asking to see the phone, the suspect took off with it without paying, jumping into a waiting vehicle with another suspect.
The victim jumped onto the hood of the car and ended up being dragged a short distance. He was subsequently punched through the window and had his leg run over.
The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening/altering injuries.
The suspect who stole the phone is described as a black man, about six feet tall and wearing dark clothing.
