Springfest organizer Nour Lyakoubi has high hopes for the May 18 celebration.

Nour Lyakoubi has one simple goal for Milton’s newest festival: daylong unity and celebration.

That’s the aim of Springfest, set for Saturday, May 18 (12 to 9 p.m.) at Country Heritage Park – which will be taken over by entertainers, artists, business vendors and food trucks.

“The motivation behind launching this event stems from the desire to enrich Milton’s local culture and foster a sense of community engagement,” said Lyakoubi, a recent graduate of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School who’s now studying disaster and emergency management. “We’re not just fostering a sense of camaraderie and connection, we’re also laying the groundwork for a community that can come together and overcome challenges.”

With relationship building at the heart of the upcoming event, Springfest will feature a diverse array of business vendors and artists, some of whom will be holding live painting demonstrations.

Milton’s own Chaezer will be among the area bands set to perform, while historic tractor tours will celebrate the town’s agricultural heritage.

Arcade games, skills games, thrift shops, food trucks and a picnic area will round out the festivities.

All told, Lyakoubi aims to “create an immersive experience that showcases Milton’s diverse culture and natural beauty.

Tickets are $15 a person or $12 for children five to seven years of age, while tractor tours are an additional $5.
