Heart to Hand Exhibit Opening Night Reception

The Fine Arts Society of Milton (FASM) will hold its opening night reception for its Heart to Hand exhibition from 7 to 9 p.m. at the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton’s Holcim Gallery. The exhibit runs from May 8 to 25.

Indigenous garden clean-up

Milton Public Library is seeking volunteers to help spruce up its Indigenous Learning Garden at Beaty branch (945 Fourth Line) from 11:30 a.m. to noon in preparation for the garden’s launch celebration throughout the afternoon. Teen participants will be credited with volunteer hours. Sign up here.

Summer job fair

MP Adam van Koeverden is hosting a summer job fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Landscape Ontario (7856 Fifth Line). RSVP at https://bit.ly/avkjobfair or just drop by. All are invited.

How Does Your Sunflower Grow?

Pick up your sunflower kits at Milton Public Library’s Beaty branch (945 Fourth Line) while supplies last. Then plant the seeds in your home garden and send photos in at the various stages of growth, which will be share on MPL’s social media channels, as well as those planted in the library’s garden.

Mr. J and The Groovy Gang

Youth 3 to 9 are invited to come sing and dance with Mr. J and The Groovy Gang from 2 to 2:50 p.m. at Milton Public Library’s Sherwood branch (6355 Main St.). Space is limited.

TED ED Club 2.0

Milton Public Library’s Main branch (1010 Main St.) welcomes children eight to 12 years of age from 2 to 3 p.m. for a club focused on such intriguing questions as the effects of sitting too close to the TV, the most horrifying parasites and the fascinating history of toilets. Join in for an hour of curiosity and exploration. Registration opens at 1 p.m.

MPO – Renewal

Milton Philharmonic Orchestra presents its spring concert, Renewal, at 7:30 p.m. at FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton (1010 Main St.). The evening features classical and popular music from cinema and theatre. Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $15 for students and children. Click here to purchase tickets.

In partnership with the Sikh National Archives, Milton Public Library’s three branches have an exhibit running throughout the month celebrating the South Asian community’s cultural, social and historical contributions to Canada.
